After the rain

Well - all you who live in climates where you can't go out side for weeks at a time, I don't know how you do it! We just had 2 weeks of rain and have gone a bit crazy. Saturday was the first day of sun and we figured it would be a bit cold, but headed out to the Ventura Pier by 9:30 AM. There were big waves from the storms we wanted to see, and we bundeled up and took off. However it wasn't cold at all - there was no wind and the sun was shining! The waves were fun to watch and the unlucky surfers getting pounded were...I don't know the word but we couldn't stop watching (espically Matt). One guy was so close to the Pier it was scary and he was having a hard time pulling out of the current...yikes. The kids had a blast playing at the playground, of course. And there happened to be tons of rocks on the beach and people had been making the most interesting balancing towers. We made a few of our own, but Summer was quick to knock them down. I think the kids favorite part was seeing ALL the dogs being walked - truly more people had dogs than kids. It just confirmed to our kids that Yes, we are the ONLY family without a dog and we really need to get one.(not gonna happen, sorry kiddos.) Afterwards we grabbed lunch at our favorite post beach place Little Ceasers $5 Hot and Ready!
It was a great day - thanks for coming back sunshine we missed ya.

Oh you cruel, cruel girl. Don't you know I have at least two months of winter left? Yesterday it was probably ten degrees. Yuck. How much does it cost to live in Cali again?
